Software Variant Specification and Configuration of all test objects in all pre series including production cars.
A variant specification identifies every unique vehicle. The variant specification is built up in two segments. First the build specification that identifies all hardware, and second the embedded parameters that identifies which software that is enabled for a specific car.
The Variant Specification Engineer is responsible to update the software variant specification in builds of all series of test objects. Updates include adding configuration parameters and changing parameter values or removing parameters (re-configure).
Additional variant changes might be necessary to secure a complete and valid variant specification.
Additionally, the responsibility includes securing that the variant changes results in a valid and complete vehicle configuration data specification.
