Application for a scholarship within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master "Education, Migration, and Diversity"

A total of 17 scholarships will be awarded: 7 scholarships for students from EU countries and 10 scholarships for students from non-EU countries. The scholarship amount is 1400 per month for 24 months. The recipients will be selected according to the admission regulations.

Entry requirements


  • The program builds upon a first degree, such as a bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in a field related to EDU_MIG, such as social sciences, history, cultural studies, educational sciences, or applied linguistics; a bachelor in teacher education is also possible.
  • The final grade of the first degree should be a minimum (or equivalent) of C+ and proven by certificates.
  • At EDU_MIG, we value multilingualism; being able to speak multiple languages is an asset we consider when selecting applicants.
  • Preference will also be given to qualified applicants with relevant professional experience in the field, which can have been gained through jobs, internships, or voluntary work.
  • Your last degree should have been obtained within 5 years. If it is older, please explain why you chose to return to university in your motivation letter.
  • EDU_MIG qualifies students for a master's degree. If you already hold one, you should convincingly justify the reasons for wanting to pursue a new master's degree in your motivation letter.

Interested applicants who have already benefited from an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarship are not eligible to apply for an additional scholarship.

Documents Required for the Application


  • A recognized 3- or 4-year bachelor’s or master’s degree from a higher education institution or a certified transcript of records indicating that the bachelor will be finished at the time of the enrolment in the master's program. A certified translation into English is required for languages other than English, French, German, Italian, and Swedish
  • High school diploma (secondary school leaving certificate, e.g., Baccalaureate, A- Levels) or equivalent and high school transcripts  (and a certified translation into English for languages other than English, French, German, Italian, and Swedish
  • Proof of nationality (copy of passport; identity will be verified during the interview) (certified translation into English for languages other than English, French, German, Italian, and Swedish
  • Minimum Level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); proof of sufficient English language proficiency can be provided through one of the following minimum achievements; the test results should not be older than 2 years:

o   UNIcert: at least Level III;

o   Cambridge English Scale: at least 180 points;

o   IELTS Academic ("International English Language Testing System“): with at least Band 7.0;

o   "Test of English as a Foreign Language,” internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) with at least 95 points;

o   Global Scale of English (Pearson Academic): with at least 76 points;

o   Higher Education Entrance Qualification from an English-speaking educational institution.

o   A Bachelor's, Master's, Licentiate, or Doctoral degree from a fully English-taught program at a state or state-recognized higher education institution.

  • Certificates of employment, internship, or voluntary work relevant to the field of “education, migration, and diversity” in English, German, French, Italian, Swedish
  • Names and addresses of two referees (academic and/or professional field)
