Scientist / Postdoc (m/f/d): Bioimaging

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing new measurement strategies to identify new therapeutic approaches to modulate angiogenic processes in inflammatory contexts
  • Planning and carrying out own independent research projects
  • Planning and independent execution of experiments
  • Independent data processing and evaluation
  • Supervision of doctoral, bachelor and master students
  • Preparation and submission of third-party funding applications
  • Preparation of applications for ethical approvals
  • Identifying new cooperation partners and planning cooperation projects
  • Coordination of sample transfers with cooperation partners

Your profile:

  • University degree (Ph.D., Dr.rer.nat., or similar) in Biology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology
  • Relevant professional experience in the field of osteoimmunology (osteoporosis and/or rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Practical experience and authorization to carry out animal experiments (EU field of activity A, formerly FELASA B, or higher)
  • Comprehensive practical experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting approaches (preferably spectral flow cytometry)
  • Practical experience in the preparation of fluorescent biological samples and imaging
  • Expertise in the field of osteoimmunology
  • Experience in the field of (spectral) flow cytometry
  • Experience with imaging techniques such as confocal laser scanning microscopy
  • Experience in cell culture and mouse models
  • Practical experience in supervision of students
  • Very good German and English language skills

The full-time position is available after August 1, 2025. It is fixed-termed and offered for three years. The position is generally suitable for part-time. The salary will be according to the German TV-L. The time limitation of the contract is based on the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
