It involves both technical and legal aspects around client products

Tasks:

  • Patent Drafting:
    • Patent Application Writing: Prepare detailed patent applications, which include technical descriptions, claims, and drawings. The goal is to clearly describe the invention while highlighting its unique features in a manner that complies with patent law.
  • Patent Prosecution:

  • Patent Porfolio Management:

    • Patent Maintenance: Monitor the status of filed patents and ensure that all necessary maintenance fees are paid to keep patents in force.
  • Collaboration with Legal and Business Teams:
    • Patent Strategy: Work closely with patent attorneys, R&D teams, and business managers to align the patent strategy with business goals, ensuring that IP is leveraged effectively for competitive advantage.
    • Licensing and Enforcement Support: Assist with the negotiation of licensing agreements and the enforcement of patent rights in case of infringement, although legal teams typically handle disputes and litigation.
  • Continual Learning and Expertise:
    • Staying Current on IP Law: Stay up to date with evolving patent laws, court decisions, and technological developments in relevant fields to provide informed and strategic advice on patent matters.
