PhD Candidate (m/f/d): Preclinical Metabolomics
Your tasks:
- Researching oxidative stress within lymph nodes caused by metastatic melanoma
- Biochemical and histopathological characterization of tumor cells in tissues using chemical and fluorescence staining
- Handling in vivo and in vitro models to test research hypothesis and refine study designs
- Studying lipid alterations of tumorous material by mass spectrometry imaging
- Quantification of corresponding lipids using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry
- Data analysis of sequencing and microscopy data
- Data analysis of mass spectrometry data
Your profile:
- Masters, Diploma or equivalent degree in Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related subjects
- Good understanding of tools such cell cultures, histopathology, microscopy, and/or chromatography
- Hands-on experience with mass spectrometers is a plus
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
- Basic understanding of cancer biology is preferable
- A clear research topic as well as multifold training and support for PhD students in framework of ISAS and the Leibniz association

The salary will be according to the German TV-L. The part-time position (65%) is offered for 3,5 years. The position is available immediately. The time limitation of the contract is based on the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
