Hardware and Software Engineer FPGA / CPU – HPC / Real-Time Simulation (f/m/d)

Your Tasks:
- Research and development of state-of-the-art numerical solvers for real-time simulation of power systems and power electronics
- Development of real-time simulation solvers for HIL / HPC platforms based on hybrid systems FPGA – CPU
- Research and development of code generation and compiler building techniques in the context of automatic model conversion to hardware platforms
- Integration of HPC and real-time solutions into existing offline simulation systems of PowerFactory.
- C++ development at the interface of FPGA and CPU, taking into account real-time constraints and high-performance computing optimisations
- Incorporation of different platforms: PowerFactory, Modelica, Simulink, …
Your Profile:
- Very successful degree (Master/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Physics or related fields
- Profound knowledge in numerical integration of hybrid DAE, numerical solvers, power system and power electronics simulation
- Strong expertise in real-time simulation, HIL, FPGA and CPU programming, parallel computing
- Experience with other power system or power electronics simulation tools will be beneficial (EMTP, PSCAD, OPAL-RT, RTDS, Typhoon, PLECS, Simulink, SpeedGoat etc.)
- Strong willingness and ability to enter new fields of technology and to develop new advanced technological solutions in the context of power system real-time simulation
