Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin (KWB) is a non-profit company for applied research and innovation founded in 2001 with over 40 employees. We develop research projects by crosslinking future topics like digitalization, resource efficiency, smart city and climate resilience with the traditional fields of the urban water cycle (www.kompetenz-wasser.de). In addition, KWB promotes the active transfer of knowledge to experts, municipal stakeholders, research partners, as well as to the interested public through public relations and the organization of events.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to research and innovation projects at the interface of data science and engineering.
Your key focus will be to develop, maintain and operate software applications leveraging data-driven approaches and applying machine learning in urban water management, climate change adaptation and urban transformation.
Specifically, you will contribute to the further development of our SEMAplus application which aims to support the planning of municipal infrastructure rehabilitation. You will also take part to projects dealing with, for example, the uptake of our data-driven solution for bathing water management, or the development of machine learning approaches for climate change mitigation planning.
