LOGISTICS MANAGER (a)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager (a) to join our team at our Special Lightweight Structures and Facades Engineering Company. As a Logistics Manager (a), you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement, allocation and distribution of materials required for our specialised lightweight structures and facades projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, production and project management to optimise material availability and support the successful execution of projects.

Your Tasks:

Materials Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive materials planning and scheduling strategies, taking into account project timelines, production capacity and inventory levels.

    Inventory Management:

    • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components and finished products, considering demand variability and production lead times.

        Demand Forecasting:

        • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to forecast material requirements for upcoming projects, ensuring accurate demand projections and minimising shortages.

          Supplier Collaboration:

          • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain disruptions or issues.

            Production Coordination:

            • Coordinate with production teams to align material availability with production schedules, preventing production delays due to material shortages.

              ERP Utilisation:

              • Utilise the company's ERP system to manage material planning, procurement and inventory tracking, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

                Risk Management:

                • Identify potential risks in connection with the availability of materials, supplier performance and demand fluctuations. Develop mitigation strategies to address them.

                  Process Improvement:

                  • Continuously assess and improve material planning and scheduling processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, cost savings and reduced lead times.

                    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

                    • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, project management and production teams to align on material requirements and project timelines.

                      Reporting and Analytics:

                      • Generate regular reports and analyses related to material availability, inventory levels, procurement performance and other key metrics to support decision-making.

                        Training and Mentorship:

                        • Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Materials Scheduling team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

                          Your Profile:

                          • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience (5+ years) in materials scheduling, procurement or supply chain management, preferably in an engineering or construction-related industry.
                          • Strong knowledge of materials planning concepts, inventory management techniques and supply chain best practices. Experience with ERP systems and software used for materials planning and inventory control.
                          • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate supply chain disruptions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
                          • Leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team. Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
