Mechanical Design Engineer Wiring Harness

• Design and develop wiring harnesses forming part of the vehicle’s galvanic electrical structure.
• Mechanically route and connect electrical components using wiring bundles, ensuring compliance with electrical, EMC and mechanical requirements.
• Develop virtual harness models and produce corresponding 2D/3D drawings for specification.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability, quality and correct implementation of harnesses.
• Verify harness functionality and robustness through design reviews, test object builds and integration activities.
• Support continuous improvements in tools, methods and processes within the team.
• Contribute to prototype builds, bench/rig preparations and integration testing activities in an agile setting.

•  Background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
• Proven competence in mechanical installation design, materials used in electrical distribution systems and understanding of harness complexity.
• Experience developing harnesses supporting specific vehicle functions, from concept to delivery.

• CATIA V5, including Electrical Workbench, Teamcenter, KDP and TCPLM, Planisware, Wiring Harness Design workflows and methodologies

• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and balance design, manufacturing and electrical requirements.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

• Experience working with continuous improvements and integration of design and testing workflows.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Gothenburg location and candidates must hold valid work authorization in Sweden.
